Frequently Asked Questions
Answers about PeekGuide live TV, YouTube playback, channels, schedules, privacy, and support.
The Basics
What is PeekGuide?
PeekGuide is a curated live TV browsing experience powered by YouTube videos. It arranges programs into themed channels and a shared television-style schedule.
Is PeekGuide free to use?
Yes. PeekGuide is free to watch and browse. If you enjoy the site and would like to help with its ongoing costs, you can make an optional contribution on the Support page. Donating is never required and does not change your access or features.
Does PeekGuide host the videos?
No. Videos are hosted and delivered by YouTube. PeekGuide curates the lineup, organizes channels, and manages the schedule and viewing interface.
Is PeekGuide affiliated with YouTube or the video creators?
No affiliation is implied unless explicitly stated. YouTube, channel names, video titles, and creator content belong to their respective owners.
Do I need an account?
No. Anyone can watch and browse channels without signing in.
Playback And Controls
Why did the program begin in the middle?
PeekGuide follows a shared live schedule. When you tune in, the program starts from the point it has already reached rather than restarting from the beginning.
How do I change channels?
Use Browse Channels, the channel up and down controls, Last, or select a channel or program in the schedule.
Can I turn captions on?
Use the CC control. Captions are available only when the YouTube video provides them.
Why might I need to click before playback starts?
Browsers sometimes block autoplay with sound. A single click allows the player to begin normally.
Can I use full screen?
Yes. Use the Full control beside the player.
The Lineup
Is the schedule the same for everyone?
Yes. The published schedule is shared, so people who tune into the same channel at the same moment should see the same program position.
How are channels organized?
Channels are grouped into broad subjects such as History, Science and Nature, and News and Public Affairs. Groups can be opened or collapsed while browsing.
How often does the lineup change?
PeekGuide adds and adjusts programming as the curated library grows. A published schedule remains the source of truth until an administrator updates it.
Why is a video unavailable?
A creator or YouTube may remove, restrict, or change a video. PeekGuide reviews unavailable programming and may replace it in a future schedule update.
